What is Exeternet ?

Externet is a conference (room) on eQSO where the Exeter, Calne and some other RF gateways are parked.

The primary purpose is a place to chat without blocking 101english and to host the two gateways that I look after.

The Exeter and Calne gateways both operate on 430.050 MHz simplex with a CTCSS tone of 94.8.

It is planned that the exeternet gateways will all use the same DTMF control codes and the conference will also be accessable via Echolink from a PC or via a RF gateway. The Echolink node number allocated is 67174.

You can switch any of the gateways to 101english if needed via DTMF tones and the gateways will default back to Exeternet automatically when quiet, making the use of DTMF optional rather than necessary.

The new version of eQSO gatekeeper software (available soon) will allow us to start and stop gateways at different times in diffrent servers and rooms. This will enhance eQSO further and make it more interesting because gateways will appear at various sheduled times from all sorts of locations instead of remianing static in one room or on one server.

That's about it for now. Keep coming back to the site for further updates.
