Exeter gateway maintenance update

Exeter is improved and now on the Exeternet Gateway Cluster

The Exeter City UHF Gateway is now operating permanently on Echolink and has joined the Exeternet gateway Cluster. The easiest way to connect to Exeter via Echolink is using the node number 2605 and connecting directly to the conference server `Ireland`.

Output is now back at 10W ERP and the old faithful `temporary` laptop has been replaced. I am still amazed that this 3.00 GBP junk laptop from a rally managed to keep going for 6 years driving the Exeter gateway on eQSO.

To make the most of the improved Exeter gateway, tune your radio to the following settings:-

Freq: 430.050 MHz (No Repeater Shift)
CTCSS: 94.8Hz

We now transmit the CTCSS tone along with TX audio so you can use radios which auto detect the tone, and use ENC/DEC modes if preferred.

As with our other gateways in the Exeternet cluster, the Gateway is connected to the IRELAND conference server which we use as our hub with the blessing of Peter EI4JR.

I hope that the ongoing upgrades at Exeter will provide a high quality and stable echolink node in the heart of the City, with good signals for mobile operation.

As usual, please let me know if you experience any problems or difficulties using the system.
