Exmouth Gateway back in service

The Exmouth gateway is back but with a CTCSS change

Geoff has announced that the Exmouth gateway will be returning to air on an attended basis shortly. Geoff is still awaiting confirmation of the re-issue of the MB7IEX callsign for unattended operation. This means that service availability may be restricted to some extent for a week or two. We will keep you posted. After some initial difficulty with the ETCC frequency cooordination they have agreed to allow Geoff to retain the original frequencies although strangely they have insisted on changing the CTCSS tone requirements. So if you have programmed your radio for Exmouth gateway you will need to change the CTCSS tone to 107.2 Hz instead of the usual 77 Hz.

We are still experimenting and evaluating the benefit of running a gateway cluster around Devon to cover the difficult terrain. Shortly Exmouth, Sidmouth and Exeter gateways will all operate on a common conference server and it will be possible to access different parts of the region through any of the gateways.
