John Healey, MP for Wentworth in South Yorkshire and a Minister of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government (named 'floods minister' by the press) visited the groups stand. He was met by Ian G3ZHI and told about the work of RAYNET and how amateur radio can be used, on behalf of user services in times of disaster.
Ian also briefed him on the work of the Sheffield and Rotherham RAYNET groups in the recent South Yorkshire floods.
